Better alternatives
More and more people choose to switch from Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser. And their choice more and more often fall on Mozilla Firefox. User friendliness, security and easy customization being the strong points of Firefox' success. The ability to change themes is something people love about this application. It ads a touch of personality to your browser. With IE it has been basically the same dreary GUI as from when it was released the first time, bundled with Windows 95 (ye you guessed it, it was in 1995). IE7 has a much improved look, but if you want you can get a Firefox theme which makes it look exactly like IE7.

Security
Security has been an issue with IE since day one. Many of these issues has to do with it's close integration with Windows itself. It makes many tasks much easier for Windows users, but leaved the system vulnerable to attacks. Since Firefox and other browsers does not require this close merging and can therefore often be safer. Many safety add-ons can even improve the security of Firefox.

Themes   [Back to top]
The choice of theme is as individual as the user. The theme you use might say something about who you are. I like simple themes and small buttons so that i get the least amount of interfering elements when browsing, I therefore use the default theme with... ye, you guessed it... small icons! Does that mean that I am simple?

The themes I have chosen to list here are a few of the most popular ones or themes that reflects my personal taste. Find more Firefox themes here.
